Nottinghamshire
Police Band

Introduction

The Nottinghamshire Police Band has been considered to be one of the finest musical organisations of its kind, and we hope for this to continue.

Staffed by volunteer musicians from all walks of life, including serving Police Officers, the band is committed to supporting Nottinghamshire Police and serving the community.

Members will tell you the band is a great organisation to be part of.  We work hard, have a high level of commitment, and we hope a great deal of fun.

Please have a look around the rest of our website and our Facebook page, and please do get in touch, we'd love to hear from you !

Events

The band is busy throughout the whole year supporting Nottinghamshire Police at celebrations and events such as commendation and medal presentation ceremonies, and the band plays a leading role in the annual Joint Emergency Services Carol Service at Southwell Minster.

Musical support is also provided for more sombre occasions including in recent years an Officer's death in service funeral and the unveiling of Ged Walker's memorial in Bulwell.

The charities supported by the Nottinghamshire Police Band have included the National Police Aid Convoy, Help for Heroes, The Royal British Legion, and the Scouts, among others.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals take place each Wednesday evening between 7.30pm and 9.30pm. We have been given access to a rehearsal space at the Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters, Sherwood Lodge, Arnold, NG5 8PP, about 5 miles south of Mansfield, & 3 miles north of Nottingham (Arnold).

When travelling north on Mansfield Road, turn right into Burnt Stump Hill, and then right again for the Police Headquarters. The HQ is next to the Park Hospital. The band has a current establishment of around 35 and is managed by a team of experienced band members.
